Self Driving

Self Driving capabilities will be to allow the operator to give control over the means of driving to the vehicle. This does not mean you can take a nap while the vehicle is in motion. There will be times when the vehicle will request that you put your hands on the wheel, and will look at your facial features to determine awareness. If these awareness tests fails, the vehicle will pull over to the sidewalk side, and place hazard lights on while parking. The vehicle will be able to travel within the speed limit since the digital map for Kaldus will have speed limits noted in the system. The vehicle will be able to safely change lanes, slow down, and speed up. The vehicle will recognize signs on the road, and traffic lights as well. In all sense, it is a self driving car that can act in a safer manner than what a human driver can.

However, the responsibility of the vehicle falls on the operator or owner. If there is an accident, it will be assumed by police as if the operator was operating the vehicle. This is why the operator must be awake and aware when self-driving is turned on. This feature is available for all trims at a cost of $1,800 per year per vehicle.
